The Reverse Offering Ripple Effect

This morning, we had the pleasure of speaking at Eagle’s Nest Church in Roswell, GA. I was asked to give the stewardship portion of a 7 week series, which usually means, “increase our giving” or “lock all the doors and don’t let anyone out until we shake them down.” Today was different though.

When it came time to pass the plate, instead of asking for their money, I asked everyone to take money out of the offering plate. The idea is to grease the generosity wheels. Eagle’s Nest’s mission, should they choose to accept it, is to use the money to do something radically, creatively generous this week and see how it makes them feel.

This isn’t the first time we’ve done this. We’ve been honored to do this at churches across the country and we’ve been awed at the amazing results. Click here to see some of the inspiring God stories from a church in TN.

It’s your turn Eagle’s Nest! Leave us a comment below with the story of how you used your offering.
