“The world needs ditch diggers, too.”
God may not call us to do something glamorous, but we all have a role to play in His plan.
“Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing junk food into your mouth. Choose your future. Choose life…”
God calls us to live a much more meaningful life than the one the world offers us. Choose the life that is truly life… (1 Tim 6:17-19).
“You’re not your job. You’re not how much money you have in the bank. You’re not the car you drive. You’re not the contents of your wallet.”
Too often, we find our identity in the stuff we have and not our character or the significance that God’s purpose gives us.
“Sometimes you’re flush and sometimes you’re bust, and when you’re up, it’s never as good as it seems, and when you’re down, you never think you’ll be up again, but life goes on.”
Remember that God is in control whether your bank account is flush or empty. We can always trust Him to take care of us.
Other People’s Money
“I love money more than the things it can buy… but what I love more than money is other people’s money.”
We often get caught up in what other people have. Stop comparing yourself and falling into the trap of envy. Be content with what you have.
